The Guard Station Trail runs from FS9700-115 up to Teanaway ridge. As is typical for the trails on the west side of Hwy 97 it has a good mix of steep rocky hill climbs, some off-camber, lots of tree roots and some tight spots that may provide you a little trail rash if you aren't well armored. This is not a trial for someone new to a Jeep. With moisture this trail will require the use of a winch and good driving skills. |

Getting There: Traveling north on Hwy 97, just past the turn off for the town of Liberty, turn left onto FS9700 (may also be marked as FS 115 or FS9700-115) There is a building here on the left called the "Liberty work center". Follow FS9700 for about .1 (one tenth of a mile) at watch for the trail on the left. The trail starts out by dipping onto a small gully through some bush and is lined with old tank treads to keep the trail from becoming muddy. |
